Westmeath's Ray Connellan named on GAA.ie 'Team of the Week'

The performance of Westmeath's Ray Connellan against neighbours Roscommon caught the eye yesterday - and has been rewarded with his selection on the GAA.ie website's 'Team of the Week'.

The impressive kicking distance and accuracy of the midfielder from Athlone was on show as he contributed seven points during the drawn encounter, a tally which included no fewer than three two-pointers.

Despite having already been relegated from Division Two, Westmeath produced a battling display against the Rossies in Mullingar.

Substitute Kieran Martin hit a late two-pointer for the Lake County to ensure the points would be shared on a 1-19 to 2-16 scoreline.
