Midlands branch of Institute of Guidance Counsellors to host annual conference

The Midlands branch of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors (IGC) will host its annual conference in the Mullingar Park Hotel on March 21 and 22.

This year’s theme, 'Guiding Every Journey: Empowering Futures from the Heart of Ireland', reflects the IGC’s commitment to supporting and empowering individuals at every stage of their journey, with a focus on pathways rather than endpoints, according to Claire Kenny, the Midlands IGC Branch Chairperson.

The Midlands branch would like to extend their appreciation to IGC President Catriona Rodgers for her tireless endeavours and professional approach to this year's event, which is proving to be a phenomenal success under her stewardship.

The 2025 IGC Conference promises to be an inspiring event, featuring keynote addresses by David Delaney (UCD) on Friday and Dr. Katriona O’Sullivan (Maynooth University) on Saturday. Workshops will be held in the hotel’s conference centre and nearby LWETB offices, covering the three strands of guidance counselling—educational, personal & social, and career guidance. These sessions aim to inform best practices across the lifespan, offering valuable insights for all attendees.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with exhibitors, sponsors, and educational partners, fostering connections and gaining insights into innovative resources.

Claire Kenny, Chairperson of the Midlands branch, expressed sincere gratitude to the premium sponsors—Atlantic Technological University, the National Tertiary Office, Maynooth University, and Technological University of the Shannon—for their generous support. The Midlands branch is also delighted to have the support of the Irish Second-Level Student Union (ISSU) as an education partner.

The Midlands IGC branch looks forward to welcoming 400 delegates from all over Ireland to the IGC Conference 2025 for two days of connection, professional development, and inspiration.
