Four local designs make the cut for Junk Kouture finals
Four designs from local schools have made the Junk Kouture Dublin City final.
One of the designs, 'News Spreads' by Athlone Community College students Eve Carey and Maeve Murphy, is made from copies of the Westmeath Independent newspaper.
This outfit has been designed to highlight the need for more sustainable practices in the newspaper printing and wider printing industry.
Moate Community School will be represented by two designs at the final, with dresses titled 'Blueprint' and 'Pay AtTENTion' making the cut.
Blueprint' was designed by students Erin Roche, Muireann Lowry, and Hannah Higgins, while 'Pay AtTENTion' was designed by Lucy Hamilton and Niall Maxwell.
Ardscoil Mhuire Ballinasloe student Erin Godswill will be showcasing her talent with a design titled 'Afroyalty'.

Junk Kouture is the world's largest sustainable fashion competition, challenging schools to design, upcycle, and create high-end sustainable fashion from recycled materials.
The Regional Finals took place across two incredible nights on Wednesday, March 5 and Thursday March 6 in The Helix.
A date has not yet been confirmed for the finals, however it has been suggested that they will take place sometime in May in Dublin.
The four local qualifiers are among 60 who will chase ten spots in the World Final.
The 2025 Junk Kouture competition in Ireland has 1,200 entries.
