FilmOffaly & National Talent Academies announce screen network event for the Midlands
FilmOffaly, Offaly County Council’s Film Commission is pleased to announce a Midlands screen careers and networking event in conjunction with the National Talent Academies. The event will be held at Esker Arts, Tullamore on Saturday April 12 from, 11am-1pm.
The National Talent Academies is an initiative of Screen Ireland. The network has been established to develop a highly skilled, diverse talent and crew base throughout the country, offering a wide range of activities for the Irish screen industry, including courses, programmes and career opportunities.
This network event will be run by the National Talent Academies: Crew Academy East and Film & TV, in collaboration with Film Offaly. It is designed to provide opportunity, insight, inspiration and connections for those across the Midlands looking to access or progress in the screen sector.
This will be a great opportunity to talk and connect with creative peers, the National Talent Academies, and other stakeholders working in the screen industry.
There will also be a panel discussion and Q&A session where attendees can hear more about the training, opportunities and resources available, and about the different journeys into the industry.
The panel will be chaired by FilmOffaly’s Darren Lee and will feature actor and director Maura Foley as well as producer and director Gary Hoctor who will be talking about their career paths in the industry. The panel is rounded off by Jade Travers and Eibh Collins of National Talent Academies who will highlight the numerous opportunities available via their network.
