Clonown NS takes two prizes at science event

Pupils from Clonown NS took home two awards from the STEMtacular Science Fair held recently in Ballinamore.

STEMtacular was founded in 2024 in order to promote STEM in the West of Ireland

It involves a free STEM fair where students present their own scientific finding as well as interacting with STEM exhibitors

Clonown NS pupils entered five projects: Is milk good for your bones?; Which learning style works best?; Which is better in food, brands or off-brands?; How do you make eco-friendly electricity ?; How do aeroplanes fly?

Pupils from Clonown NS won the Steps Engineering Award at Stemtacular for their project on How do aeroplanes fly?

The project How do aeroplanes fly? won the Steps Engineering Award, for team members Zen, Lochlann, Itzan, Ollie, Tomás, Tom, Sean and Stan, while Ciara O'Neill won the Best Communicator Award.
