Hanly Castle Hotel Group acquires 'iconic' Kinnitty Castle
The Hanly Castle Hotel Group has this week announced the acquisition of Kinnitty Castle, with the group planning to expand and redevelop the facilities available for guests at the historic Offaly property.
In a statement issued to the Offaly Independent this afternoon (Thursday), the hotel group outlined its commitment to preserving the castle's heritage while enhancing its offerings, saying it will retain the existing management and dedicated team in Kinnitty.
"Plans are already underway for a significant renovation, focusing on refurbishing all state rooms and bedrooms to elevate guest experiences to new heights," stated the The Hanly Castle Hotel Group.
"Further, the group is preparing to submit a planning application to Offaly County Council later this year.
"This ambitious proposal includes expanding the number of rooms and introducing additional leisure facilities, ensuring the property continues to be a premier destination for both domestic and international guests.
"Kinnitty Castle, known for its rich history, stands as a testament to Ireland’s cultural legacy. The Hanly Castle Hotel Group is honoured to contribute to its ongoing journey, preserving its unique old-world charm while enhancing its facilities with modern comforts for future guests.
"We look forward to unveiling these exciting developments and welcoming visitors to experience the next chapter in Kinnitty Castle’s storied history," the group's statement concluded.
The Hanly Castle Hotel Group is also the owner of Lough Rynn Castle Estate & Gardens in Leitrim, and Kilronan Castle Estate & Spa in Roscommon.
