Roscommon teams named for Cork clashes
The Roscommon teams for tomorrow's double header of league fixtures against Cork have been named.
The Roscommon men face Cork in Division 2 of the Allianz Football League at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday at 7pm. The same venue will host the Lidl Ladies NFL clash between the two counties earlier in the day (throw-in 3pm).
The reason for the lengthy gap between the starting time of the two fixtures is that Cork face Kilkenny in Division 1A of the Allianz Hurling League at 5pm - a match which will be shown live on TG4.
The Roscommon men's team shows four changes from the side which lost to Meath in Navan last Sunday. St Brigid's duo Robbie Dolan and Conor Hand, David Murray of Pádraig Pearses and Clann na nGael's Ciarán Lennon have been drafted into the starting line-up. Ruaidhrí Fallon, Dylan Ruane, Ronan Daly and Donie Smith are the players to make way.
Diarmuid Murtagh, who recently became Roscommon’s all-time top scorer, will captain the team in the team in the absence of Brian Stack.
Meanwhile, the Roscommon ladies will be looking to build on some encouraging performances when they take on Cork. The Rossies drew with Donegal in Johnstown last Sunday and would have won the game if it wasn't for a late contentious penalty awarded to the visitors.
Cork have three wins from four games so far and are viewed as likely to secure promotion along with table toppers Galway.
