Westmeath football team named ahead of league clash with Cork

Dermot McCabe has made four changes to the Westmeath senior football team for Saturday's Allianz Football League Division 2 third round clash against Cork.

Westmeath travel to Pairc Ui Chaoimh tomorrow evening (Saturday, throw-in 5pm) to play Cork, the Lake County hoping to claim their first win of this campaign.

A new centrefield pairing will start the game for Westmeath with Jack Geoghegan (St Loman's) and Kevin O'Sullivan (The Downs) named in the engine room of the team.

Danny McCartan (St Loman's) is named in the half forward line and is joined on this offensive line by Brían Cooney (Coralstown/Kinnegad) and Tubberclair's Matthew Whittaker.

The quartet will all be hoping to have a positive impact and give the management selection options as the season progresses.

Cork started their league campaign with a four-point win over Meath, before a narrow defeat away to Down in their last outing.
