Government funding allocated for Ballinahown historic buildings

Two historic buildings located in Ballinahown are the recipients of grant funding announced by the Government this morning (Friday).

The thatched cottage in Renawn, Ballinahown Wood, has been allocated €16,400 towards the upkeep of the thatched roof, while Ballinahown Town Hall will receive a sum of €32,730 towards the maintenance of its roof.

Temple Connor Church in Clonmacnoise, has also received grant funding for roof maintenance, €25,234 being allocated towards the works.

A total of €8.1 million in grant funding has been allocated by the Government for the conservation and protection of architectural heritage throughout the country.
