Join Our Boys twins hit target for 'miracle' treatment

By Rebekah O'Reilly

A recent fundraiser for Roscommon brothers Isaac and George Naughton reached its €650,000 target on Monday, February 10, just hours before it's 6pm deadline.

The GoFundMe page was set up to raise money to cover the cost of life-saving treatment for the 14-year-old boys, who suffer from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a progressive neuromuscular disease that destroys muscle tissue and is currently fatal.

The Naughton family will travel to the US for the treatment in hopes of saving the lives of their twin boys. They sadly lost their eldest, Archie, to the condition in July 2022, aged just 16.

“This is the first time we have found a treatment that would be beneficial for the boys,” wrote the boys parents Paula and Padraic. "This is a miracle."

The fundraiser has amassed €653,170 from some 20.9K donations as of 3pm on Monday, February 10.
