Crossmolina Deel Rovers of Mayo beat Ballinderry of Derry to become All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football champions in the most dramatic of circumstances.

The Derry men were leading by a point with the game deep into injury time before conceding a penalty with seconds remaining.

Mayo senior star Conor Loftus took the spot kick and scored to hand his side the victory and the title on a scoreline of 1-12 to 0-13.

The goal from Loftus - whose fiancee Roisín Cryan died tragically earlier this month - sparked emotional scenes as Crossmolina celebrated the win.

Crossmolina captain Mikie Loftus dedicated the victory to Roisín Cryan, adding that the win was "bittersweet".

Ballinderry led by 0-13 to 0-11 after 59 minutes.
