Removal of problem trees in Athlone estate welcomed

Local councillor John Dolan has welcomed recent works completed by Westmeath County Council at Roslevin Lawn in Athlone.

"I was approached by a number of people in Roslevin Lawn last year to get assistance in clearing a large overgrown area and some dead and dangerous trees," said Cllr Dolan. "I proceeded to get the council to visit the estate to chat with the residents and see what needed to be done.

"We asked all the residents to agree and sign the removal of the trees, which they did, and then the council proceeded to do the works.

"I have to say that the crew who worked on this were excellent and did a great job and the residents of the estate are delighted with the outcome. The estate has plans to further enhance the area and I know that myself and the council will give our full support to them again," continued Cllr Dolan.

‘I want to thank the council workers for all their help and diligent work in this and I know that the residents of Roslevin Lawn will maintain and improve the works going forward," concluded Cllr Dolan
