Moate team looks at how to improve crop yields

For their BTYSTE project, Moate Community College students Saoirse Lynam, Heidi Shellam and Hollie Field have been looking at ways of increasing horticultural crop yields.

With their project “Electrobloom”, they looked at ways of developing and building an electro-culture growth chamber to increase the yield and germination rates of protected crops with a view to increasing sustainability.

The project was highly commended.
