Yellow snow and ice warning for Westmeath and Roscommon
Met Éireann has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice in a number of counties including Westmeath and Roscommon.
The warning, issued this morning, predicts falls of sleet and snow with snowfall accumulations expected.
It advises of potential hazardous travelling conditions, poor visibility and travel disruption.
The counties covered by the yellow warning, which spans from 5pm today (Saturday) to 5pm, Sunday, are Cavan, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kildare, Leitrim, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Roscommon, Sligo, and Westmeath
It comes on top of a separate orange weather warning for snow and ice in counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Wicklow, Clare, Limerick, Tipperary, across the same time period.
Met Éireann is warning of significant snowfall accumulations in these areas.
There is also an orange weather warning for rain and snow for Cork, Kerry and Waterford, with heavy rain transitioning to sleet and snow with significant accumulations expected.
