Drum family raise over €800 on 'Lá an Dreoilín’ for Temple Street Hospital

A local family from the Drum area of Athlone have raised over €800 for Temple Street Hospital by caroling on Lá an Dreoilín, or wren day.

The talented group of young musicians treated neighbours, friends and family to a Trad session.

This included Tadhg on the in whistle, Mollie on the accordion, Éanna on the banjo, and Aoibh on the fiddle.

Having set a target of €200, the Kelly family were absolutely amazed by the generosity of their neighbours, who enabled them to raise four times their initial goal.

Tadhg, Mollie, Éanna, and Aoibh are pupils at Cornafulla National School, members of Athlone Comhaltas.

They want to extend their thanks to their dad for helping them to rehearse for many hours ahead of their day of performing.
