Roscommon GAA 'win a house' draw sees big prize claimed

A major Roscommon GAA fundraiser concluded at the Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone last night (Monday) when the top prize was awarded in its 'win a house in Kildare' draw.

The €100-a-ticket fundraiser offered a chance to win a two-bedroom home in Station Walk, Newbridge, valued at €360,000.

The draw, which was streamed live on Facebook, saw Tim Hayes of the Hodson Bay Hotel pick out the winning ticket from the drum.

The lucky winner was Thomas O'Brien from Ashbourne, County Meath.

Roscommon GAA made a maximum of 15,000 tickets available for the draw.

It said the funds raised would put it in "a strong financial position for future development projects, primarily, the progression of the Dermot Earley Centre of Excellence."
