Full events guide for Heartlands Pride this weekend
Heartalnds Pride is set to take place across the weekend from Friday, November 29 to Sunday, December 1 in Athlone.
The Pride celebration is returning to the Midlands for it's second consecutive year.
Kicking off today, Friday, November 29, the festival has a number of brilliant events to get the show on the road.
The 'Art of Drag' event is taking place at 5pm in TUS Students’ Union. The class is open to all, with all materials being provided by the organisers.
Midlands LGBT & ShoutOut are hosting a series of free educational workshops exploring LGBTQI+ identities, terminology, and allyship.
The Heartlands Pride Afterdark event is taking place in Maisie's from 9pm to 2am, with acts like local singer Liadh, Athlone's own burlesque star Memphis Shell, and many more.

On Saturday, the fun continues with a pride breakfast at 11am in Magico Cafe, and a Christmas Craft Market at Dead Centre Brewing from 1pm to 5pm.
Pride cocktails will also be available to the public in Dead Centre Brewing from 5pm until late.
The final day of Heartlands Pride goes out with a bang, as the Trans Social takes place from 3pm to 5pm. This event requires booking here - with the location being revealed to attendees via text.
Finally a wine, cheese, and quiz night with Kara Kalua is set to take place from 5pm in Fine Cafe to finish off the weekend of celebrations.
