Athlone Family Resource Centre host food and toy appeal

Athlone Family Resource Centre (FRC) will host their annual food and toy appeal this weekend.

The collection is taking place at Tesco in Golden Island shopping centre in Athlone from Friday, November 29.

The organisation are accepting donations of non-perishable food items like tinned meat, fish, vegetables and fruit, pasta, rice, tea, coffee, and toiletries.

"Last year we supported 250 families all across Athlone town and the surrounding rural areas. Every little helps so if you can donate one item it will help to make a huge difference for a family this Christmas," FRC wrote in a social media post.

"A huge thank you to Tesco Ireland who have unwavering support for FRCs all across the country and recognise the value of the work we do."
