Gardai seize four vehicles over feud incident on Athlone's Roscommon Road

Gardai have seized for examination four vehicles which were reportedly involved in a feud-related ramming incident with each other on the outskirts of Athlone earlier this week.

The incident unfolded near the Hill of Berries, on the Roscommon Road, at 4.30pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Sergeant Dermot Monaghan of Athlone Garda Station said the parties involved were members of the same family, and had been ramming each other's vehicles on the road.

He indicated that there may have been injuries inflicted as a result, but that these injuries had not been reported to the Gardai.

The four vehicles involved were seized by the guards for examination, and CCTV footage of the incident is currently being sought.

Sergeant Monaghan said the Gardai would also be interested in speaking to anyone who was in the vicinity at the time and witnessed the incidents in question.
