Midlands LGBT and Shoutout to host free educational workshops

Midlands LGBT & ShoutOut are set to host free educational workshops exploring LGBTQI+ identities, terminology, and allyship.

The workshops come as part of Heartlands Pride, and are set to take place on Friday, November 29.

The first session at 12:30pm is ideal for parents, guardians, and members of the public looking to learn more about LGBTQI+ issues.

Part two, starting from 2:15pm, will help local service staff to build their awareness of providing inclusive services for LGBTQI+ people.

From 12:30pm to 1:30pm, an open session on allyship, terminology, and guidance for parents & guardians.

This session is perfect for anyone looking to learn a little more about what it means to be LGBTQI+, and how you can support the LGBTQI+ people in your family or community.

A lunch and chat event will be hosted from 1:30pm to 2:15pm, giving people the opportunity to ask any questions they might have on LGBTQI+ issues

In the afternoon, A session for professionals working with LGBTQI+ communities in education, youth work, social care, healthcare, or any other relevant service will be held.

This session will grow your awareness and confidence to support LGBTQI+ people, and answer any questions you might have about making your service more inclusive.

These workshops are supported by the Ireland Funds - Heart of the Community Fund.
