Athlone pub garners 22k views on 'hilarious' festive video

A festive video posted by Biddy O'Dowd's pub in Athlone has racked up a whopping 22.5k views in just five days.

The video features bar owner Chris Hewitt alongside a number of staff and customers.

With over 22.5k views and 65 shares on Facebook, and just over 8k views on Instagram, the clip has received a great reaction from locals who call it "absolutely brilliant" and "very funny".

In the clip, bar staff are seen decorating Biddy O'Dowd's as owner Chris runs errands in various locations around the town.

The hilarious Christmas video features iconic Athlone locations and businesses such as Athlone Castle, B&Q, Fernhill Garden Centre, The Snug, The Dark Horse Bar & Restaurant, and the new cycleway bridge.

As the festive season approaches swiftly, the video asks the question of whether it is really too early to put up the Christmas decorations.
