Four one-act plays for Athlone Little Theatre

Athlone Little Theatre presents 'Four pint-sized plays for a tenner!' from Friday, November 29 to Wednesday, December 4 next. The evening features four lighthearted and poignant one-act plays from three new directors Katie Lynch, Michelle Kelly, Ekiñe Azcárate Martínez, along with a more familiar name in Clive Darling.

First up on the night is 'After the Ball' by Frederick Stroppel, a lighthearted look at funerals, directed by Clive Darling. This is followed by 'A Matter of Husbands’ by Ferenc Molnár, a Hungarian author, with Ekiñe Azcárate Martínez at the helm.

The third one-act play is 'The Beggar or the Dead Dog’ by German playwright Bertold Brecht, who is regarded as one of the most influential dramatists of the 20th century. 'Poker Night', a two-hander by Limerick writer Dan Mooney, directed by Michelle Kelly will conclude the night of drama. This witty play centres on two old friends bonding over shared loss during a card game.

'Four pint-sized plays for a tenner!' runs from Friday, November 29 to Wednesday, December 4 next. There will be a Sunday matinee only on December 1 at 3pm. The duration of the four plays will be 75 minutes approximately, and patrons should note there will be no interval.
