Ballykeeran natives success at Irish Business Design Challenge

BiaSol, a company set up by Ballykeeran native twins Niamh and Ruairi, has been awarded the overall award in the micro / small category in this year’s Irish Business Design Challenge (IBDC) by Design & Craft Council Ireland.

The awards were hosted at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin yesterday, Monday, November 12.

BiaSol, a family-owned food start up that produce highly nutritious foods made from repurposed leftover grains collected from Irish Breweries.

Now in its fourth year, IBDC celebrates businesses that add value, repurpose products, develop circular economy strategies, enhance efficiency, and tackle societal and environmental challenges through sustainable design.

Yesterday’s awards were the first event taking place in Irish Design Week 2024, a week-long programme of over 40 events nationwide
