Sensational Pearses seal Connacht semi-final berth
CONNACHT SFC QUARTER FINAL
Padraig Pearses 2-10, Corofin 0-10
A sensational display by Padraig Pearses saw them spring a surprise by ousting a much-heralded Corofin side from the Connacht senior football championship.
The Roscommon champions were superb during a first half, which saw them led by 1-8 to 0-32 at the interval, the goal from the impressive Paul Carey.
And though Corofin did rally, Pearses always seemed to have enough to stay ahead, and a late insurance goal from sub Jack Nevin saw them through by 2-10 to 0-10.
