Center Parcs in Ballymahon welcomes its one millionth guest
Center Parcs Longford Forest, just outside Ballymahon, is proud to announce that it has welcomed its one millionth guest today (Friday), doubling this year’s festivities for the company after it celebrating five years in business in July.
The company, which currently employs 1,251 people, not only has recorded visitor numbers that surpassed expectations since opening, but has also transformed Ireland’s domestic tourism market in the last five years by introducing a new short break offering to the Irish public.
According to Center Parcs Ireland data, over one in three (37%, 14,570) guests have stayed at Longford Forest at least twice.
The recreational centre offers an adventure course through the treetops that ends in a zipline descent, as well as golfing, bowling, cycling and swimming. There is also a spa facility on the grounds for those looking for more sedate relaxation.
Commenting on the milestone, Daragh Feighery, Village Director at Center Parcs Longford Forest said: “Today is a very proud day for our company as we celebrate that we have welcomed one million guests, almost a fifth of Ireland’s population, to Longford Forest in just five years.
“This occasion comes at a significant time for us as we just began construction of a new development at Longford Forest last month, which includes an additional 198 new lodges, and will increase our capacity to welcome even more families.
“When we opened Longford Forest, we could not have imagined just how positive and successful our short break experience, which was new to the Irish market at the time would be, and we believe the new development will enable us to further revolutionise Ireland’s domestic tourism sector.”
