Micheál Burke becomes Mullingar Shamrocks manager

It has been confirmed that former All-Ireland football medal winner Micheál Burke will take up the reins as manager of Mullingar Shamrocks senior football team.

Burke, who was part of Luke Dempsey's U21 side that beat Kerry in 1999, has been a stalwart of the club for many years and take up the mantle from another local man Enda Monaghan.

Burke will be joined by Liam O'Reilly, a highly regarded coach on the local scene who worked with the GAA in that capacity for many years. O'Reilly won a Leinster minor title with Westmeath in 2000. Donal O'Donoghue, who was part of the 2012 and 2018 winning sides, is also part of the club's new management team.
