Athlone pup Daisy is a Puppy of the Year semi-finalist

Athlone pup Daisy Moran is through to the semi-finals of Petmania's Puppy of the Year competition.

Daisy is one of six pups to be selected for the semi-finals, having received the most votes in Athlone for the first round with 375 votes.

This fabulous pooches owner, Linda Harte Moran, said she is simply the best little dog.

"Daisy is 4 months old and she is the best behaved most loveable puppy she loves cuddles in bed and playing with other dogs," she said.

Linda believes Daisy deserves to make it to the final because she is a "ray of sunshine".

She said: "I think daisy deserves to win because she's my ray of sunshine. From the minute I open my eyes till the minute I close them she's such a good girl and I love her with every ounce of my being."
