Hope Trust to host Athlone candlelit walk

Have you lost someone you love to suicide or by traumatic death?

On Thursday, October 31, in Athlone town Hope Trust will be facilitating a candlelit walk in memory of all those whose lives have been lost.

Participants will meet at the castle at 7pm, across from St Peter and Paul’s church and walk across the bridge to the town centre. The event is designed as both a celebration of life and to include support and prayer for those who have lost loved ones to suicide or traumatic death.

The candles signify light entering the darkness and bringing hope to those who are in despair.

Hope Trust want you to know that if you are struggling or grieving, you are not alone! In uncertain and difficult times in life it always helps to know there’s a place you can go and people you can find support in.

Their aim is to spread the message of hope. God cares, and people in this town care. You are not alone!

Hope Trust will also have a film series currently running called “Stories of Hope” which can be found on its website (www.hopetrust.ie), Facebook page (HopeTrust Ireland) and Instagram (Hope Trust).

It covers nine different real-life stories from people affected by suicide. It is hoped that those who watch them would find comfort, encouragement and hope for the future.
