Mayor to open Culture Night exhibition for Athlone Photography Club

Cllr Frankie Keena is set to open Athlone Photography Club's Culture Night exhibition at Abbey Road Artist Studios on Friday 20 September.

The event will be open to all with free admission. Athlone Photography Club is one of the many groups celebrating Culture Night, and it is an opportunity for the public to see the impressive work being done by the photography club.

Speaking about the event, Mayor Keena said: “I commend Athlone Photography Club for all the work that they do in showcasing our cultures and heritage in a unique way through the eyes of a lens with an amazing array of photographs.

’’Culture Night provides an opportunity for communities to come together to celebrate their broad culture, creativity and the arts. It provides a fantastic opportunity for everyone to become more aware of the rich varied cultures around them, their backgrounds, and traditions that have shaped our personal lives and upbringings."

Athlone Photography Club is focused on photographing Athlone and Athlonians, and they say they are delighted to have Athlone’s first citizen joining them this year for Culture Night.
