Two morning road accidents in Athlone area
Gardai were called to the scene of two road accidents in the Athlone area this morning (Wednesday).
One of the incidents occurred on the westbound section of the M6, between Athlone and Moate, not far from the Circle K M6 service station.
Gardai and the ambulance service were in attendance, and the incident resulted in traffic tailbacks on the motorway.
The other collision this morning occurred on the Dublin Road in Athlone, in the vicinity of the entrance to Valleycourt. Again Gardai were in attendance.
No further details were available at the time of writing.
The Athlone Fire Service was not called to either collision.
