New Athlone Community Services Council websites to be launched next week

Athlone Community Services Council CLG (ACSC) will launch their new websites at Athlone Library at 1.00pm on Thursday, September 12.

The ACSC is a not-for-profit organisation aimed at providing a broad range of community based support services to the people of Athlone and surrounding areas.

Its services include supports for older people such as Meals on Wheels, Advocacy, and a Healthy Ageing Lifestyle Programme. The ACSC is committed to the protection of older people, their dignity, diversity and the right to live independently in their homes.

The services also include the Esker House Domestic Abuse Support Service, which provides support to women and children experiencing domestic violence and abuse.

Other services include community childcare provision, such as Clonbrusk Childcare Centre, Jolly Mariner Childcare Centre, Sarsfield Pre-School, and Shannon Pre-School, as well as counselling, a Community Employment scheme, and an information and referral service. ACSC services are provided in a non-judgemental way by trained staff in a caring environment.

ACSC exists to improve the well-being of the people of Athlone and surrounding areas by establishing, providing, promoting and supporting social services that seek to relieve poverty, advance education, increase participation in the community and contribute to personal development and well-being.

All are welcome to attend the launch next Thursday.
