Athlone Little Theatre staging Oscar Wilde play this week

Athlone Little Theatre's production of Oscar Wilde's play, 'The Importance of Being Earnest', gets underway this Friday.

The play will be staged in the theatre every night from Friday, August 30, to Friday, September 6, at 8pm. An afternoon matinee is also taking place at 3pm this Sunday, September 1.

Directed by Joe MacCarrick, Athlone Little Theatre's production of the iconic Oscar Wilde play is one not to be missed.

Jack Worthing is in love with Gwendolyn, played by Katherine Wheatley. However his mysterious origins are a cause for concern, not least for Gwen’s overbearing mother, Lady Bracknell.

Oscar Wilde's timeless classic is packed with his famous witty expressions in this delightful comedy that is sure to entertain.
