Family Open Day to be held in Athlone's Custume Barracks this Sunday

Athlone's Custume Barracks will open to the public for a 'family open day' this Sunday afternoon (August 25).

This free event will take place from 2pm to 5pm.

It will include a weapons display, military vehicles display, artillery weapons display, engineer equipment display, military museum, face painting and a tour of the barracks.

Representatives of veterans' groups the Organisation of National Ex-Service Personnel (O.N.E.) and IUNVA (the Irish United Nations Veterans' Association) will also be present at the event.

All are welcome to attend on Sunday afternoon.
