Athlone Little Theatre to stage Oscar Wilde play next week

Athlone Little Theatre is staging a production of Oscar Wilde's play The Importance of Being Earnest, starting next week.

The play will be staged in the theatre every night from Friday, August 30, to Friday, September 6, at 8pm. A Sunday matinee is also taking place at 3pm on September 1.

Directed by Joe MacCarrick, Athlone Little Theatre's production of the iconic Oscar Wilde play is one not to be missed.

Jack Worthing is in love with Gwendolyn, played by Katherine Wheatley. However his mysterious origins is a cause for concern, not least for Gwen’s overbearing mother, Lady Bracknell.

Oscar Wilde’s timeless classic is packed with his famous witty expressions in this delightful comedy that is sure to entertain.
