Further growth expected in Monksland biopharma cluster

The IDA believes there will be significant growth in the existing worldclass hub for biopharmaceutical manufacture in Monksland in the coming years.

The State agency said it “anticipates that significant new investment will be attracted to the location in the period 2024-2030...”

The comments were made as part of a public consultation submission made to Westmeath and Roscommon county councils on the issues paper for the local authorities' forthcoming joint Athlone Urban Area Plan for 2024 to 2030.

The IDA said the plan should continue to enable this growth.
