Ballyforan's Rachel set for Rose of Tralee

Home Economics lecturer and farming influencer Rachel Hastings will take to the stage in the Rose Dome on Tuesday night for the Rose of Tralee Final 2024.

Ballyforan native Rachel (27), who has over 22,000 followers on her farming Instagram account 'Keeping Up With The Hastings' that she runs with her sister Miriam, was chosen as the Roscommon Rose on Saturday, June 1 in the Abbey Hotel.

As well as working on the farm, Rachel is in the process of completing a PhD in ‘Education for Sustainable and Responsible Living’, which she has said is inspired by her passion for sustainability.

Rachel will be quizzed by hosts Daithí Ó Sé and Kathryn Thomas on Tuesday, August 20, live on RTÉ.

Some 18 Roses will take to the stage on Monday night, with another 14 on Tuesday night. Rachel is the tenth of the 14 contestants on Tuesday.

The Westmeath Rose, Grace O'Connor, from Killucan, will also be interviewed on Tuesday. She will be the second last on stage.
