Traditional music workshops as part of Féile na Sionainne

Athlone branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoirí Éireann will host traditional music workshops on Saturday, August 3, as part of the Féile na Sionainne festival.

A great selection of classes are being held, with sessions for improvers and advanced players. Workshops for concertina, fiddle, banjo, button accordion, flute/whistle, and uileann pipes will be included.

The venue is the Gaelscoil, Scoil na gCeithre Máistrí, Athlone, N37 RP03 and the event will be from 10am to 12pm for improvers and 2pm to 4pm for more advanced players. There will be a pupil tutor recital from 4.15pm to 5pm. There is an excellent lineup of guest tutors teaching at this event. Renowned tutors Ernestine Healy - Concertina, John McEvoy - Fiddle, Angelina Carberry - Banjo, Dan Brouder - Button Accordion, John Wynne - Flute and Whistle, and Liam Winnett - Uilleann Pipes will work with participants on the day.
