Significant road safety works planned at local school

Significant road safety works in the vicinity of Tubber NS are being planned.

Offaly County Council has published plans for works that include two controlled pedestrian crossings, one uncontrolled pedestrian crossing, a new bus set-down at the school, wheelchair accessible parking spaces, 14 delineated parking spaces, traffic calming build-outs and pencil bollards,

The work will also involve line marking and signage indicating one-way traffic and new kerbing and footpaths.

The school is located close to the community hall and St Mary's church, on the on the local road L-2019-2.

The plans involve an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing at the church car park, and two controlled crossings, one from the community hall and one at the school.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection at the offices of Offaly County Council, Áras an Chontae, Charleville Road, Tullamore and Tullamore Municipal District, Acres Hall, Cormac Street, Tullamore, from July 25 to August 22.

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development, can be made in writing to Roads Section, Offaly County Council, Áras an Chontae, Charleville Road, Tullamore, County Offaly not later than September 5

Submissions should be clearly marked as “Tober National School New Road Layout”.
