U16 Ted Webb Cup Round 3: Westmeath 3-19 Galway 3-10

Westmeath rounded up their group campaign last Saturday morning in Páirc Chiaráin, Athlone with a convincing win over a regional Galway outfit. Westmeath made the running for the majority of the game, driving on from a 1-10 to 1-5 lead to win by 9. The result means Westmeath finish the group stage with two wins and a draw and will await a semi-final on 3rd August against one of Meath, Laois, Mayo or North Kerry.

Both Westmeath teams recorded victories over neighbours Roscommon on Saturday. Next up for both teams is a semi-final on 3rd August against one of Limerick, Clare, Wexford or Wicklow. Well done to all players and mentors on two excellent displays.

Two Westmeath teams travelled to Dunganny in Meath to play the home side in two games. With these players still getting familiar with each other, the two games were a worthwhile experience for players and mentors alike.
