Successful Club Iarmhí Golf Classic held

Club Iarmhí, the official Westmeath GAA supporters group, enjoyed a fantastic day at their annual Golf Classic in Mullingar Golf Club on Friday, July 5.

There was maximum turnout of 50 teams on the day, which is a remarkable achievement for the organisers.

The committee are extremely grateful to everyone who assisted with the running of the event; to those who sponsored prizes and all who participated.

A special word of thanks goes to the main sponsors O'Brien's Renault Mullingar.

Congratulations to the winning team, representing Cassidy's Hotel, who scooped the big prize of a golf outing at the fabulous Royal Portrush Golf Club.

Secretary Vinny Maguire said it was a great success. "We want to thank all those who participated and are very grateful to Mullingar Golf Club for their great facilities and excellent service.

Their greenkeeper had the course in excellent condition.

“Thanks to all who sponsored our tee boxes and anyone who contributed on the day.

“We'd like to thank all who assisted in any way, especially the ladies in catering who were fantastic.

“Overall, it was a very successful event," he said.

"We are grateful to O'Brien's who sponsored the fantastic prizes."
