Gracefields in Athlone by Glenveagh Developments.

Applications now open for Athlone's first Cost Rental Homes

Applications are now open for Athlone's first cost rental homes. Located at Gracefields, Cornamaddy, the new development, offers six beautifully designed 3-bedroom semi-detached houses.

The announcement was made today by Ireland’s largest Approved Housing Body (AHB), Tuath Housing Association.

The development marks a significant milestone and represents the first-ever delivery of cost rental homes in Athlone, presenting a key opportunity for individuals and families to secure, high-quality, affordable housing in a prime location.

The monthly rent for these 3-bedroom, A-rated houses is set at €1,390, with a deposit of €1,340 required.

Built by Glenveagh Homes, these A1-rated homes are constructed to the highest standards, featuring modern kitchens, stylish contemporary sanitary ware, and energy-efficient condensing Heat Pumps. Gracefields is strategically located northeast of Athlone town centre, just off the N55 arterial route that connects to the M6 motorway, offering easy access to Dublin and Galway.

Tuath Housing is Ireland's leading provider of cost rental housing, with over 400 cost rental homes delivered to date in counties Dublin, Kildare, and Louth. With over 5,000 homes currently on site nationwide and 2,000 cost rental homes in the pipeline, Tuath continues to expand its mission of providing secure, affordable housing across Ireland.

On this latest development, Tuath Housing CEO Sean O’Connor commented, "Tuath Housing is committed to delivering cost rental homes that provide long-term, affordable housing solutions for individuals and families. Our strategy to develop high-quality homes in Athlone and across Ireland is crucial in addressing the housing affordability crisis. This new development in Gracefields not only offers an affordable and secure rental option but also contributes positively to the local community by enabling families to grow and thrive in a well-connected and vibrant area."

Supported by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, these homes provide a long-term, affordable rental option for families and individuals. Cost rental homes are designed to offer rents based on the actual cost of building, managing, and maintaining the properties, rather than market rates. This approach ensures long-term affordability and security of tenure, allowing families to establish roots and thrive in a supportive community.

Applications for these new homes are now open. Interested parties can apply through the Tuath Housing website
