Ken Smollen to be laid to rest tomorrow

The funeral mass of the late Ken Smollen, a well known charity campaigner across the midlands, will take place tomorrow (Monday)

Mr Smollen of New Road, Clara, and late of Daingean Road, Tullamore, passed away on July 12.

He was a former Offaly councillor and CEO of the Ken Smollen Food Appeal, and a retired Garda.

Ken passed away peacefully in the care of the Brosna Ward at the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, surrounded by his loving family. Pre deceased by his daughters Anne Marie and Kate. He will be deeply missed by his wife Sandy, daughters Keira and Leonie, his grandchildren Greg Jnr, Ross, Ben, Finn, Mia and Fay, Leonie's husband Greg, Keira's partner Séan, brother Dermot, sisters Karen, Valerie and Laura, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family and friends.

Funeral Mass on Monday morning at 10am in the Church of The Assumption, Tullamore, followed by Burial after Mass in the Monastery Cemetery, Clara.
