The properties will be sold by Public Auction on Wednesday, July 24, at 3pm at the Shamrock Lodge Hotel. This fine farm is being offered in three different blocks each likely to attract different buyers

The largest block is a fine residential holding on 18.33 hectares (45.29 acres) at Warren High, Baylin. Circa 29 acres are top quality grazing land in an elevated position commanding outstanding panoramic views of the Westmeath countryside. There is evidence of a disused gravel pit on the lands immediately adjoining the western boundary of this section of the property.

From details as noted on the Geological Survey of Ireland web site, it is noted the lands cover an area designated as having a foundation of APM Granular Aggregate, APM Crushed Rock Aggregate and APM Sand & Gravel. The deposits are understood to be significant, approximately 35 acres.

The semi-derelict two storey residence nestles into the hill and is approached by a tree lined avenue from the public road and protected from the northerly weather by a bank with mature woodland. The residence may be suitable for the Vacant Homes Refurbishment Grant.
