Lennon steps down as Roscommon Ladies boss

Roscommon Ladies football manager Ollie Lennon has stepped down.

Roscommon LGFA, in a statement on Facebook today, said it was with "a heavy heart" that it announced Ollie Lennon's decision to step down as Roscommon Ladies Intermediate Football Manager after three years in charge.

The move comes after Roscommon exited the All Ireland Intermediate Championship on Sunday, after defeat to Leitrim at the quarter final stage.

The statement said Lennon had led Roscommon to win the Connacht Intermediate Football Championship title in 2023 and the All Ireland Division 3 league title in 2022.

"Roscommon LGFA wish to thank Ollie for his service, for the tireless work put in by him and his management team the last three years. His work as a manager and an ambassador for the game, went above and beyond. We wish Ollie and his management team the best of luck in all their future endeavors. Roscommon Chairperson Declan Walsh thanked Ollie and his management team and wished them the very best of luck going forward," the statement concluded.

Lennon's term in charge was controversially ended last autumn, before he was subsequently reinstated.
