The Riptide Movement set for Athlone gig this weekend

Renowned Dublin rockers The Riptide Movement will be performing in Athlone this weekend as part of their current tour marking the 10th anniversary of the release of their album, Getting Through.

The band will be playing in The Venue, on Church Street, tomorrow (Saturday, June 29) with doors opening at 8.30pm.

Getting Through was a number 1 album featuring songs like All Works Out, You & I, Animal Skin and Bones, and the title track, Getting Through.

The band will be playing the album in its entirety on this tour.

Formed in 2006, The Riptide Movement are renowned for their phenomenal live shows and have played all around the world, from the main stage at Electric Picnic to Glastonbury and Benicassim.

They’ve also shared stages with artists such as The Rolling Stones and Neil Young, and have collaborated with orchestras such as the BBC Orchestra and the RTE Concert Orchestra.

Talented Athlone musician Jack Tiernan will also be performing tomorrow night, on support duty for The Riptide Movement.

Doors open at 8.30pm, so make sure to get in early and show your support for Jack.
