New business to take over Kafe U premises in Athlone

It was announced today that Kafe U chef Peter, and his wife Verginia, are to set up their own café on the Kafe U premises in Athlone.

They intend to take over the Dublin Road premises with a café called 'The Good Café', and will open on Wednesday, July 10.

Peter has been working as a chef at Kafe U for a number of years.

Kafe U's owners posted this announcement on their Facebook page today, and thanked the Athlone community for their support over the past nine years.

They will officially close their doors on Sunday, June 30 at 4pm.

Owners Ken and Ultan said, "no doubt [Peter and Verginia] will bring top quality food to Athlone and will still bring Athlone’s best breakfast to you all day!"

'The Good Café' team will officially take over Kafe U's social media accounts from next week.
