Moate Railway Station Group unveils new mural

The Moate Railway Station Group is proud to announce the unveiling of a new mural at the station, created by local artist Dominique Foley. This vibrant artwork depicts the train used in the filming of the iconic movie "The Great Train Robbery," parts of which were shot at Moate Railway Station in 1978.

Michael O’Brien, (P.R.O) of the Moate Railway Station Group, expressed the group's delight with Dominique Foley’s exceptional work.

"The mural adds a new dimension to the history of the station grounds," O’Brien said. "We are thrilled with Dominique's artistic contribution, which beautifully captures a significant moment in our local history."

O’Brien also commended the ongoing efforts of the group members, who, with the steadfast support of the local community, work tirelessly each week to maintain and enhance the station's heritage.

"The dedication and hard work of our volunteers are truly commendable," he noted. "This mural is a testament to what can be achieved when the community comes together."
