Gardai issue appeal after cyclist suffers serious injuries in Ballymore collision

Gardai have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward in relation to a road traffic collision in Ballymore yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, which has left a cyclist in hospital with "serious" injuries.

The incident happened on the Moate Road in Ballymore yesterday afternoon.

Shortly before 1.30pm, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a collision involving a car and a bicycle.

The cyclist, a man in his 50s, was taken to Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore. Gardai said this evening that that man was currently receiving treatment for serious injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
