One change to Westmeath team for Galway clash

David Lynch has returned to the Westmeath starting line-up for this Sunday's All-Ireland SFC meeting with Galway at TEG Cusack Park (throw-in 3pm).

Lynch was unable to start last Saturday’s game against Armagh due to illness, though he was introduced as a substitute in the closing stages. The St Malachy's player has been selected to start against Galway, with Charlie Drumm dropping to the bench in what is the only change in personnel from the defeat to Armagh.

Westmeath defender Jack Smith remains out through injury with his brother Stephen again among the subs after making a notable impact off the bench against Armagh.

Meanwhile, Damien Comer is missing from Galway's match-day panel having picked up an injury in an incident during their opening round victory over Derry which saw Gareth McKinless red-carded.

Seán Kelly is also missing for the Tribesmen but the Galway team contains such renowned stars as Paul Conroy, Matthew Tierney and Shane Walsh (see team lists below).

The teams also met in last year's Sam Maguire Cup group stages when Galway won on a scoreline of 0-20 to 0-12, though Westmeath were well in contention until Ray Connellan was shown a second yellow card.

Tickets for Sunday's game are available on the Ticketmaster website and in certain SuperValu and Centra outlets.

Athlone GAA club is running a bus to Sunday's game in Mullingar, with the bus due to depart Páirc Chiaráin at 1.30pm. To book a place, contact 085 2200795 or any club committee member.
