Sixty-seven year old midlands man turns out for his local hurling club
Seanie Monaghan, a 67 year old pensioner, was an unlikely figure to line up in defence for Offaly club Shamrocks last weekend.
In a Division 4 Hurling League game against Seir Kieran in Clareen on Sunday, Seanie stepped in to fill up the team.
He was a strong GAA player back in the 1970s, 80s and 90s and showed his commitment to the sport and his parish once again on Sunday.
Although Shamrocks eventually lost the game by 4-21 to 1-7, Seanie's memorable appearance put a smile on everyone's faces.
